OR staff SMS terms

Effective date: 20 October 2026

1. Program and enrollment

MYL Instruments INC operates the MYL OR staff SMS program for participating staff in Canada and the United States. Enrollment is optional. An OR Supervisor explains the program and records your affirmative verbal agreement before enabling messages to the mobile number you provide. You must be authorized to use that number.

We send an enrollment confirmation and automated operational alerts for the categories you select: room ready, turnover overdue and projected case overrun. Selected alerts cover active operating rooms in your department. This program does not send marketing messages.

2. Preferences

The supervisor records your name, role, mobile number, language and selected categories. A new confirmation is sent when your number, language or alert selections change, or when your enrollment resumes. Ask your supervisor to update, pause or remove your enrollment. Notify your supervisor before changing or giving up your number.

3. Frequency and charges

Message frequency varies with OR activity and your selected alerts. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Contact your carrier for details. Long messages may arrive in multiple SMS segments.

4. Stopping messages

Reply STOP to the sending number to unsubscribe at any time. You may receive an opt-out acknowledgment. You can also ask your OR Supervisor to pause or remove your enrollment. A message already submitted for delivery may still arrive. The supervisor cannot override a carrier-level STOP block. To resume, contact your supervisor and follow your carrier's instructions; for our toll-free sender, you may need to text START or UNSTOP to the same number.

5. Help

Reply HELP, speak to your OR Supervisor, or email jakob.bryant@mylinstruments.com. Ordinary replies are not a monitored channel for clinical instructions or urgent support.

6. Delivery and appropriate use

SMS supplements the institution's established OR communication processes. Messages may be delayed, filtered, duplicated by networks or not delivered. Delivery does not prove that a staff member read or acted on a message. Use the established communication and escalation procedures for urgent matters. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, subject to applicable law.

Alerts identify the room and operational event; they do not include patient, procedure or surgeon details. Do not send patient or other sensitive clinical information in replies.

7. Privacy

Privacy policy: https://mylinstruments.com/confidentialite We use contact details, preferences, consent records and delivery information to manage enrollment, send selected notifications, honor opt-outs and provide support. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers, including our messaging provider and carriers, process information as needed to operate and deliver the program.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms or discontinue the program. Published terms identify their effective date. If a change requires renewed consent, we will obtain it before sending messages under the changed enrollment.
